BiographyHistory

Tess Ross was born on a cattle station east of Yuendumu, an Aboriginal settlement north-west of Alice Springs. Napaljarri is her skin name. She attended the Yuendumu School and then trained as a teacher's assistant. She returned to Yuendumu and has been actively involved in maintaining the indigenous Walpiri culture and language in the community. She has a daughter named Lizzie Ross with Jack Jackamarra Ross.
