BiographyHistory

Rhylle Winn lives near Dayboro, Queensland. He has a rural background with successive generations of the family involved in the timber industry since its establishment in 1850. Having been educated at Ipswich Grammar School, he then became a rural land valuer. He has always been a beef grazier: at his property at King Scrub, near Dayboro; then Curtis Island off the coast near Gladstone; then in the South Burnett region near Murgon; and all the while maintaining Dayboro as his home base.

He was a neighbour of Colin Thiele's (q.v.) for the final decade of Thiele's life and received much encouragement for his own literary career from the acclaimed children's author.
