BiographyHistory

Gulumbu Yunupingu was born on an island called Mayayikurr. Gulumbu is an artist and the eldest sister of Galarrwuy Yunupingu and Mandawuy Yunupingu. In 2004, Gulumbu Yunupingu won the Telstra Award for her artwork. Gulumbu is also the daughter of Mungurrawuy Yunupingu who told her Yolngu stories about the different constellations when she was a child.
