'Peter St Albans...was a stable boy for James Wilson at St Albans Stud, near Geelong.' He rode the winner of the 1876 Melbourne Cup, Briesis. He went on to ride many other winners until his death at age 35. Source : Aboriginal Stars of the Turf: Jockeys of Australian Racing History (2003)
Neither St Albans nor his descendants have stated/claimed his Aboriginality in the public domain. In fact, evidence of refutation can be found in the Sydney Morning Herald 1/11/2004.
