BiographyHistory

During the Second World War, Teddy Allen was a member of the Voluntary Defence Corps (VDC) receiving military training and the responsibility of directing people to safety during air raids. Teddy Allen is a Nyamal man from the Pilbara of Western Australia. His father's name was Teddy and his family name was Mapayi. Teddy Allen is familiar with a number of languages local to the Pilbara area of Western Australia such as Nyangumarda, Nyiyiparli, Palyku, Kariyarra and Yindjibarndi. Nyaparu Raccozic is his daughter.
