Kaitie Litchfield is the daughter of Adelaide zoologist Dr Carla Litchfield. When Kaitie was four years old, she lived with her family in Uganda and cared for a young orphaned red-tailed monkey. From this experience, Kaitie wrote a children's book which was published by Black Dog Books when she was ten years old.
