BiographyHistory

Jalyigurru is the birth name that was given to Judy Hughes from her Elders and refers to the leaves that are found after a flood has subsided. Jalyigurru married a man known as Galloping George Hughes or Warriyarda. Budjaguru was his Yamatji name and they had five girls and five boys together. Jalyigurru would accompany her husband to the different stations and work as a cook and cleaner while Budjaguru would work doing fencing.
