BiographyHistory

Rose Kyle was the daughter of Arthur and Flora Hall. When her father passed away the authorities forcibly removed her sister and transported Rose and her mother to Palm Island. Flora Hall died of a heart attack at 36. Upon Rose's return to Palm Island she met a carpenter named Andrew George Kyle and they were married in 1934. Andrew and Rose Kyle raised their children with a deep sense of pride in their Aboriginal heritage. Andrew Kyle died at the age of 44 in 1951 of a heart attack, leaving Rose to raise their eleven children on her own.
