Neva Collings spent her childhood in the Hawkesbury River and Blue Mountains regions. In 1995 she graduated from the University of Sydney with a dual Bachelor Degree in Law and Economics. Collings has worked with The Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Commission (ATSIC), The Human Rights and Equal Opportunity Commission (HREOC), the Indigenous Law Centre, Gundjehmi Aboriginal Corporation and the New South Wales Judicial Commission. She has also worked on the repatriation of Indigenous remains held overseas.
