BiographyHistory

Nyukana Baker is an artist who was born at Ernabella on the Anangu Pitjantjatjara lands in the northwest of South Australia. Baker was educated in the Presbyterian Mission at Ernabella. She began to build her skills as a weaver and painter in the 1960's. On Baker's mother's side, her family is from Wingellina and her father's family is from Kanypi. Nyukana Baker's artwork is highly revered and has been exhibited around the world.
