BiographyHistory

Stavros Kazantzidis trained at Sydney College of the Arts and the Australian Film, Television and Radio School, where his graduating film, Road to Alice, won Best Short Film at the 1992 Australian Film Institute Awards. Stavros produced and co-wrote the low-budget hit, Love and Other Catastrophes (1996), starring Frances O'Connor and Radha Mitchell. Following this he wrote and directed True Love & Chaos and wrote and produced Strange Planet (1999) starring Naomi Watts and Claudia Karvan. Stavros directed the award-winning romantic comedy Russian Doll (2001) and in the same year,worked as a writer on Jane Campion's next project, In the Cut.
