BiographyHistory

Maureen Wallace, the eldest daughter of Walter and Lizzie Jack, grew up in Hopevale Mission. Through connections with the Gordon family clan she was a Nugal-warra woman. She was speaker of Guugu-Yalanji language. She married Allan Wallace in 1970 and they had six children. Maureen was a skilled weaver and was instrumental in the revival of the traditional skills.
