BiographyHistory

When Douglas D'Antoine began his education he could understand French and speak Bardi, but had no experience of the English language. His grandfather helped him to learn the games, sport and English language of the children he went to school with in Broome. D'Antoine married a woman name Laurelle Brown in Broome when he was 24 and became a boat builder for the pearling industry.
