BiographyHistory

Jackson Stewart was from Fish Point near Swan Hill. On 30 April, 1940 he volunteered for service in World War II at the age of 52 and was transported to Greece. There he was taken prisoner by German infantry. Frank, the son of Jackson Stewart served in Greece and evaded capture to serve in Africa, and New Guinea. Stewart's daughter Florence served in WWII in the Women's Armed Services. After the war he returned to line in Swan Hill.
