BiographyHistory

Harry Thorpe was a distinguished winner of the Military Medal for bravery in the First World War who had volunteered on the 12th of February in 1916. Thorpe was a member of the 7th Battalion and fought in the trenches of the border between France and Belgium. Thorpe was made Lance Corporal in January 1917, and Corporal in October later that year. He was killed in action on the same day as Reginald RawlingsV) and John Firebrace and was buried near them in Harbonnieres.
