BiographyHistory

Reginald Rawlings, son of William and brother of Adelaide, was born at Framlingham Mission in Victoria and enlisted in the army in Warrnambool on the 14 March 1916 joining the 29th Battalion. Rawlings was awarded the Military Medal for bravery for his role in the battles that took place along the Morlancourt Ridge in France 1918. He was killed in action on the same day as Henry Thorpe and John Firebrace. Lionel Rose and Reg Saunders (qq.v.) are descendants of his family.
