Founder of This Is Not Art festival in Newcastle, New South Wales, and director of the Next Wave Festival, Melbourne. Marcus Westbury chaired Renew Newcastle, a scheme to make empty buildings available at low cost to artists and creative enterprises, and was a member of the Creative Australia Advisory Group set up in 2009 by the federal government.
