BiographyHistory

Rev. James Noble was married to a woman named Angelina and they worked at various missions in Queensland, Northern Territory and Western Australia; Yarrabah and Mitchell River, Roper River, Forrest River. They had four children on the Forrest River Mission and worked alongside Rev. Gribble for nineteen years, arriving in 1914. In 1925, he was ordained a deacon at St Georges Cathedral in Perth. He was one of the central figures in the Royal Commission of Inquiry into the Forrest River Massacre of 1926, evidence of which he had found after a survivor turned up at the mission.
