BiographyHistory

In Bruce Thomas' youth, he travelled around the Pilbara with his family following work. Bruce then received some further education in Strelley where he learnt to read and write in Nyangumarta. He then began working in Strelley teaching language and working with the high school transcribing language from tapes and teaching the young boys how to transcribe. Along with serving on the Commission of Elders for Western Australia, Bruce Thompson is a speaker of Nyangumarta, Martu Wangka, Manyjilyjarra, Kartujarra, English and some Warnman and Putijarra.
