BiographyHistory

Leroy Richards was an Adnyamathanha and Barngarla man who worked as a stockman around the north of South Australia. Later he owned an orchard near Berry. He regularly took his family back to his traditional country to teach his daughters the stories and the songs. His wife Rosalie was a primary school principal. He is the father of Rebecca Richards, the first Indigenous Australian to win a Rhodes Scholarship.
