1 A Bush Heroine W. Preston-Day , 1921 single work short story adventure
— Appears in: The Queenslander , 11 June 1921; (p. 11)
A young solicitor moves from Sydney to set up practice in Coolaroo. An appreciative client, a widow with several grown children, invites him to stay at their homestead for a few days. She regales the young man with many seemingly tall stories about her early life on the station. Though her daughters caution him not to believe them, he and others are prepared to allow her the benefit of the doubt.
