David Wells's main research interests are in Russian literature of the modernist period. He has written extensively on the poetry of Anna Akhmatova, on Russian symbolism and on Russo-Japanese cultural relations in the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. He has been Manager, Resources and Access, at Curtin University Library in Perth, Western Australia.
