BiographyHistory

William Cowper was an Anglican clergyman, recruited to the colony of New South Wales by Samuel Marsden (q.v.), and noted for his strong Evangelical stance. Cowper was a founding member of the Aboriginal Protection Society.

He was the father of Charles Cowper (q.v.).
