BiographyHistory

Bowman Johnson is an Elder of the Weri people of the Cherbourg Aboriginal Community, west of Brisbane, Queensland. Johnson was a 'poineer of Aboriginal Community services in Brisbane, and a father figure to many generations of his people'. Johnson was also a 'founding member of the Born Free Club that provided important services to Brisbane's park people.' (Source: Koori Mail, 192, 1999:5)
