BiographyHistory

Richard Wells arrived in the Swan River Colony, Western Australia, as agent for an emigration scheme by Colonel P.A. Lautour. Wells was accompanied by eighty-five servants and considerable stock and received a grant of over 100,000 acres for the scheme. Records of the first five years of European settlement show Wells as having property at the junction of the Helena and the Swan Rivers, Perth, Western Australia.
