BiographyHistory

Scott Cane grew up in southern Tasmania before moving to Canberra to study at The Australian National University. His PhD examines the relationship between human behaviour and material culture among Ngarti and Kukatja people living in the Great Sandy Desert of Western Australia. He has worked as a consultant, and co-authored the monograph Land Use and Resources in Desert Homelands with economist Owen Stanley. Cane has also written over many reports and papers about Aboriginal cultural heritage, community life and relations to land.
