BiographyHistory

Judy Wickes qualified in social work at the University of Queensland in 1997 and began work as a Stolen Generations counsellor. This work led to her Honours thesis, '"Never Really Heard of It": A study of the impact on identity of the Queensland Certificate of Exemption for Aboriginal People'. In 2007 she was enrolled in an MA at the University of the Sunshine Coast, researching the lived experience of citizenship amongst Indigenous Queenslanders who had been granted the Certificate of Exemption.
