BiographyHistory

Penelope Hetherington's work of Western Australian history, Paupers, Poor Relief and Poor Houses in Western Australia, 1829 to 1910 (2009) won the Western Australian Premier's Book Awards, West Australian History Award in 2009. She has also written or edited several other books including British Paternalism and Africa, 1920-1940 (1978) and The Making of a Labor Politician (1982).
