BiographyHistory

Gordon Barton founded the Interstate Parcel Express Company (IPEC), and was a publisher of alternative newspapers. At one stage, Barton owned the publishing company Angus and Robertson (q.v.). He was active politically and established the Australian Reform Movement and the Australia Party; the latter was the forerunner of the Australian Democrats.
