Marvyn McKenzie is an accomplished artist and photographer. McKenzie's mother was born at Nepabunna Mission and his grandfather, Malcolm McKenzie Snr, was a fully initiated Adnyamathanha Mathari Yura law man. McKenzie has ties to the Luritja, Ngarrindjeri, Irish and Scottish people also.
McKenzie took up painting in the early 2000s as a tool for anger and stress management. In much of his work, McKenzie uses the traditional medium of natural ochres, found in abundance in the Flinders Ranges where his family continue to hold strong cultural ties to land and heritage.
