Fredrick Briggs grew up in Sydney. He has enjoyed playing A Grade rugby league football; between 1978 - 1986, Briggs played football in the highly sought-after Aboriginal Knock-Out Football Carnival, an annual event which includes up to sixty Aboriginal football teams competing against each other from all around New South Wales. Briggs has worked for the Fairfield City Council for more than thirty years.
