BiographyHistory

Olga Novak was born in north-eastern Poland, lived for six years in the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics (USSR) and, for a shorter period, in Germany. She has attended Council of Adult Education (CAE) courses in writing, including play and scriptwriting. In Australia she has worked in the garment industry's factories, as a waitress and also a bookkeeper. She has been a member of the Society of Women Writers, the Victorian Association of Multicultural Writers, and of the Migrant Women's Society of Women Writers. Her work has been read on Radio 3CR and Radio 3LO and from the mid 1980s has given readings at many public forums including universities, libraries and festivals. As well as the works listed, she wrote the Preface to Women in Harmony, Volume 1 (1992).
