Richard Jordan is a graduate of Queensland University of Technology's Creative Writing program. In October 2003, he served as a judge for the Brisbane Writers Festival WriteSmall short story competition. In July 2005 he was selected to attend the World Interplay festival of young playwrights in Townsville, North Queensland. In 2008, he commenced a select course for ten emerging playwrights at the Royal Court Theatre in London. After completing a PhD at The University of Queensland (2015), he completed an Advanced Diploma in Screenwriting (Series Television) at the Australian Film, Television and Radio School (2016). In 2018, he was a lecturer in Theatre Studies at the University of New England.
His poetry, short stories and feature articles have appeared in Utopia, Communique, and Scope. His plays have been produced by such companies as La Boite.
