Anne-Marie Smith left France in 1968 and arrived in Australia via Zambia and Papua New Guinea in 1986. She spent 20 years in Western Australia where she worked with Migrants and Indigenous Australians. A linguist, educator and community worker, she has worked in prison education and for Amnesty International. Moving to Adelaide, she joined PEN and the Multicultural Writers Association of Australia for whom she has edited Culture is... Australian Stories across Cultures - an Anthology (Wakefield Press Oct 2008). Anne-Marie is a volunteer with SAWC and has enjoyed guidance from the Varuna Writers' Centre. She is busy is working on her life writings.
