BiographyHistory

Stewart Shaw belongs to the Dika Dika people and was educated at Mt Margaret Mission. After being taken from his parents and placed in a home, Shaw continued to run away to be with his parents in Laverton only to be brought back by police. Stewart enjoyed writing during high school in Esperance but wanted to be a stockman and began working on variouse stations. Stewart Shaw returned to his country in order to receive traditional knowledge before he began writing again during further study at Warburton. He has worked in schools helping deliver Aboriginal learning. Stewart Shaw wrote The Story of the Frog Mouthed Owl and Mula Maru the Two Goannas.
