BiographyHistory

"John Simpson is an award winning creative producer with over twenty years experience working in the performing arts arena. He began producing at the Melbourne Fringe Festival in 1992 with the critically acclaimed theatrical production ' Black Heart : Memories of Apartheid' After studying producing at the Australian Film, Television and Radio School (AFTRS) he moved into film doing his 'apprenticeship' on the feature film Thunderstruck, working with executive producer Al Clark. His film productions have been screened at the following International film festivals: Montreal, Palm Springs, Sydney Film Fest, World of Woman Festival, Algarve Film Festival and Tropfest 2004." ' Men's Group is the story of six very different men; Paul, Freddy, Cecil, Lucas, Moses and Alex . They meet once a week at Paul's home to talk. When they begin they are complete strangers.

'They soon discover that they have something in common, being male. As trust grows between them they gradually begin to share as they learn to listen to each other. They discover that they are not quite so alone in their fears as they had presumed.

'It takes a tragedy for the men to finally understand that they must take responsibilities [sic] for their own lives and those of their loved ones.'
