BiographyHistory

Philip Egan was brought up on Managunga Mission by his grandparents. Prior to living on the mission he and his family lived in a hut made out of old fence palings and bark on the riverbank behind the mill where his grandfather worked. Egan began his professional football career with Richmond Football Club in 1982. He played 120 League games with the club but suffered a number of injuries. He became a Lecturer and Coordinator in the School of Education at Melbourne University, coordinating the Koori Unit.
