Jane Schauer was born in London and migrated to Australia with her family while still a baby. Schauer has written non-fiction works and a number of screenplays. In 2008 she published We All Need To Go, a travel story themed around toilets.
Schauer runs the publishing house Kreav Publishing and has created artists' books (growing out of her residency at the Red Gate Gallery in Beijing).
