BiographyHistory

Basil Burdett was a journalist, art dealer and critic. He contributed to the Brisbane Daily Mail, Art in Australia and the Melbourne Herald. Burdett enlisted in the Australian Imperial Force in Brisbane in September 1915 and served as a stretcher-bearer with the 1st Field Ambulance. He was serving as deputy assistant commissioner to the Australian Red Cross Field Force when he died in a plane crash.
