BiographyHistory

Jenny Wright was born Janice Claire Simpson at Walgett in 1946 to George and Bertha Simpson. Wright spent her early years at Lightning Ridge, where George was a stock hand and also collected opals that Bertha then sold to the tourists. Wright worked numerous committees over the years before winning a position as Teacher's Aide at Central Primary School in Walgett. Wright enrolled in a course in Sydney before studying at Sydney University.
