Gerard Warber was removed from his family at Moore River Native Settlement and taken to Sister Kate's Home in Perth. He remained there until he was seventeen with no contact from his parents. Warber worked on a farm and then for a photographer before joining the Army and working in military mapping. After service, Warber worked for the Department of Mines and Energy.
Warber's story was recorded by the National Library of Australia for the Bringing Them Home oral history project and appeared in the associated publication Many Voices: Reflections on experiences of Indigenous child separation, edited by Doreen Mellor and Anna Haebich (2002).
