BiographyHistory

Fay Mary Green, daughter of Joanna Cruse and Dudley Dennis, has eight siblings. The family lived at Gingie Mission but spent a lot of time at Brewarrina and Walgett as well. Green was very sad to finish school at fifteen but was lucky to get work with a good family on Kiama station.

After marrying Harry Green, a fencing hand and later a shearer, Green continued to work on stations until starting a family. Once the children started school, Green lived in the town and took her youngest with her to cleaning jobs, while Harry worked on the stations. Later, Green became a Community Worker, working in schools and for Skill Share, teaching children painting, sewing, making artefacts.
