BiographyHistory

Fay Sands grew up on the Namoi Reserve. Sands was raised by her mother, Lilly Walford, who worked at the local hospital and did housekeeping for hotels, and her grandparents Neilly Brown Walford and Albert Walford. Sands married George Sands in 1957 and they had seven children.
