Jane Pole is an artist and a poet. She is also a member of the Stolen Generations. Pole, who is a younger sister to Kunyi McInerney, was removed from her family and sent to Colebrook Home for three years then adopted out. When Pole was sixteen her older sister Kunyi made contact with her and eventually established a relationship. Pole has met many members of her birth family.
Pole's story was recorded by the National Library of Australia for the Bringing Them Home oral history project and appeared in the associated publication Many Voices: Reflections on experiences of Indigenous child separation, edited by Doreen Mellor and Anna Haebich (2002).
