BiographyHistory

Les De Jong was adopted when he was two years old into a supportive non-Indigenous family but was separated from his sisters who were adopted into another family. De Jong attended school in Wagga and trained as a printer. He has been a member of the Aboriginal Education Advisory Committee.

De Jong's story was recorded by the National Library of Australia for the Bringing Them Home oral history project and appeared in the associated publication Many Voices: Reflections on experiences of Indigenous child separation, edited by Doreen Mellor and Anna Haebich (2002).
