BiographyHistory

Marita Hobbler and her husband Lyn Hobbler (1928-1999) were both born at Mona Mona Aboriginal Reserve and were both removed from their families to live in dormitories at Mona Mona Mission in north Queensland.

Lyn and Marita Hobbler's stories were recorded by the National Library of Australia for the Bringing Them Home oral history project and appeared in the associated publication Many Voices: Reflections on experiences of Indigenous child separation, edited by Doreen Mellor and Anna Haebich (2002).
