BiographyHistory

William Lanne was a Tasmanian Aboriginal, third husband of Truganini and the last surviving male of the Oyster Cove clan. Born at Coal River he was taken to the Aboriginal Settlement at Flinders Island with his family before being placed in the Queen's Orphan Asylum where received some education. William Lanne later sailed with the Aladdin and the Runnymede.
