BiographyHistory

Ken Lindley is a member of the Stolen Generations. He was removed from his family in 1940 and sent to Sister Kate's Home in Perth, where he spent most of his childhood. During World War II he moved to Greenbushes Institution and Kenwick. Lindley entered the workforce at the age of thirteen. He was not reunited with his mother until he was forty years old.

Lindley's story was recorded by the National Library of Australia for the Bringing Them Home oral history project and appeared in the associated publication Many Voices: Reflections on experiences of Indigenous Child Separation, edited by Doreen Mellor and Anna Haebich (2002).
