BiographyHistory

Daphne Doney was removed from her family at the age of four years, along with her brother, and sent to Sister Kate's Home in Perth. Doney became a nurse and at the age of fifty was reunited with her mother.

Doney's story was recorded by the National Library for an oral history project and appeared in the associated publication Many Voices: Reflections on experiences of Indigenous child separation edited by Doreen Mellor and Anna Haebich (2002).
