Margaret Bromley was brought up in London and Sierra Leone. As a teenager she migrated with her family to Gulgong, New South Wales. She has worked as a teacher in the United Kingdom, New Zealand and the Australian Capital Territory, and has undertaken PhD studies in Children's Literature.
